Tehran, April 13, IRNA – Director of Northern Azadegan oilfield development plan Karamat Behbahani said on Wednesday that the project to produce 75,000 bpd oil from a joint oilfield with Iraq has made 98 percent physical progress.
He said that oil sector of Northern Azadegan field entered the preparatory phase in January and February.
He said that pumping oil from the joint oilfield depends on the output policy of the National Oil Company and the Ministry of Petroleum.
Behbahani said that executive works for commissioning the joint oilfield have been completed.
Northern Azadegan Oilfield is a joint oilfield between Iran and Iraq estimated to have 5.6 billion barrels oil.
Development plan will be executed in two phases with a capacity of 75,000 oil bpd. The figure will augment to 150,000 bpd.
CNPC, the Chinese oil executive undertook development plan of the oilfield.
