A large blaze broke out in an electrical motors manufacturing factory in Shahre Kord, west-central Iran, that firefighters were battling for hours, local media reported.

Enayatollah Rahnavard, the local fire chief told ISNA news website that the blaze is in the city’s industrial zone and after hours of battling the fire it continued until the morning. The official government news agency IRNA reported that the fire came under control before noon and firefighters were extinguishing last pockets of burning debris.

Rahnavard said the fire started at midnight and the city fire department with assistance from a nearby town and with ten fire trucks began fighting the blaze.

The fire chief did not mention the cause of the blaze but said there are substantial material village without any casualties. Rahnavard said that 40 truckloads of water were used.
