A Bahraini court sentenced three officials from the country’s Future Bank to five years in prison and fined them each 1 million Bahraini dinars (over $2.5 million) for their involvement in transfers by Iranian entities linked to terrorism, the chief prosecutor said on Thursday.

Future Bank and three Iranian banks were also fined 1 million dinars for their involvement in helping several individuals finance terrorism and escape international sanctions.

The Supreme Court issued ten cases related to money laundering, fined the three officials and four banks, as well as confiscated more than $2.5 million funds that were going to be transferred, the chief prosecutor Mohammed Jamal Sultan said on Thursday.
