A direct flight to Tehran the capital of Iran was launched from Almaty airport. Flights will be operated 3 times a week on the national air carrier on modern ‘Embraer-190’ jet. The Parties believe that the first direct regular flights will give impetus to the development of tourism between the two countries. This will also facilitate the introduction of a visa-free regime between the two states. The arrangements will be made in the near future at the intergovernmental level.

MAHMOUD ASADI, SECOND CONSUL AT IRAN’S CONSULATE GENERAL IN ALMATY

It is not difficult to obtain Iranian visa at present. We are working under the simplified scheme. We issue 15-20 visas per day. In addition, we address the issue of issuance Iranian visas upon arrival. As for the introduction of visa-free regime, only mutual agreement of the Kazakh side is needed. This will become another step in strengthening relations between the two countries.
