Indonesia and Iran will cooperate on the development of religious education, both higher education and Islamic schools in order to re-build Islamic civilization.
Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim welcomed the invitation of cooperation from Iran and said that it needs to be directed into a better direction, as quoted by the official website of the Religious Affairs Ministry www.kemenag.go.id on Friday (June 3, 2016).
Lukman hopes that through this partnership, a shared view about Islam can be created between Indonesia and Iran.
According to him, Iran is a country that plays an important role in building the civilization of the world.
Lukman made the statement when he received Iranian delegation including Head of International Relations Hawza Ilmiyah Clom-Iran Mohammad Hasan Zamani, Iranian High Cleric of Mahzab Shafi’i Abdul Baist Qitali Iran and Iran’s Ambassador to Indonesia Muhammadi.
During the meeting with the Iranian delegation, Lukman was accompanied by Director General of Islamic Guidance Machasin, Director of the Islamic Information and Ali Muchtar Head of the Research and Education on Religious Life Muharra Marzuki.
