A new round of Iran-Cyprus oil and banking talks attended by Managing Director of National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC) Ali Akbar Safaei and Cypriot Communications Ministry Permanent Secretary Alecos Michaelides was held in Tehran on Sunday.


Elaborating on the meeting, Safaei hoped that the problems between NITC and a Cypriot bank would be resolved soon, Shana reported.


The official expressed NITC’s willingness to boost ties with Cyprus in various fields noting that Cypriot companies and Iran aim to cooperate at the international level.


Michaelides announced his country’s eagerness to strengthen relations with NITC and said, “Cyprus is ready to collaborate with Iran in maritime transport and other relevant areas.


“Cyprus is also eager to cooperate and help in resolving the ongoing banking issues with NITC.”
